The Liffey Company takes Riverdance to Asia, commencing with the first tour of China. 100,000 people attend the 11 sell-out performances in Beijing and Shanghai.
The Riverdance Asian tour moves on to Japan for the show’s third Japanese tour, this time adding two new cities: Sendai and Hiroshima.
Composer Mary McAuliffe is the recipient of the first Riverdance scholarship awarded by the Ireland-Canada University Foundation, allowing her to create a Canadian-Irish choral suite for the Newfoundland Youth Symphony Choir.
