Cathal Synnott - Keyboards/Musical Director
Cathal graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1995 where he read English and Music. He subsequently joined Riverdance as a singer and in 2000 became the musical director of Riverdance on Broadway. Since then he has been very busy as a singer, keyboard player and musical director. Apart from Riverdance On Broadway, his New York engagements as musical director include Guys and Dolls, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and a showcase (off Broadway) of the Music Box revues of Irving Berlin. He has just finished a very successful run at The Gate Theatre, Dublin of Sweeney Todd by Stephen Sondheim. Singing is a large part of Cathal's life. He has sung with Placido Domingo, Erasure and Vanessa Mae. He has been a member of Anúna and the National Chamber Choir and was recently tenor soloist in the Crash Ensemble's Irish premier of Van Gogh, an opera by Michael Gordon. |
