Matt Bashford - Uilleann Pipes, Low Whistle, Tin Whistle
Matt Bashford is a native of Limerick City. Born into a musical family, he began learning the tin whistle at the age of 9, he then graduated onto the uilleann pipes at age 11 under the tuition of Mikey Dunne a renowned uilleann piper also from Limerick City.
Having competed in many competitions up to the age of 18, Matt began playing and touring with various musical groups and stage shows including, The Belfast Irish Harp Orchestra, Mícheál Ó Súileabháin's Traditional Irish Music Orchestra, Ragus, To Dance on the Moon among other.
Matt also plays the clarinet and has played the uilleann pipes and clarinet with numerous orchestras over the last few years, most recently performing Bill Whelan's Seville Suite in the National Concert Hall with The Canadian Orchestra along with The Irish Chamber Orchestras.
