Carla O'Brien
Carla O'Brien has been dancing since she was 5 years old and has won every major championship during her competitive years. In the 2004-2005 dancing year, Carla won the North-American, Ulster, Gt. Britain, All-Ireland and World Senior Ladies Championships.
The most memorable event for Carla would have been winning the Senior Ladies World title in Ennis in 2005. This was the culmination of many years of blood, sweat and tears and it was wonderful to see Carla crowned with the most coveted accolade she so richly deserved.
Dancing is not the only thing in which Carla excelled, in July 2005 she graduated with distinction and a first class honours degree in Business Information Technology from Queens University, Belfast.
Carla has been a member of the Riverdance Flying Squad since she was 16 and is very excited at becoming a principal dancer with the show. It really is a dream come true for her. Her teachers Mona Ni Rodaigh, Maria McCaul, Ciara Lennon and Dearbhla Lennon (also a lead dancer with Riverdance) have spoken of Carla as always being an exemplary ambassador for their school and they look forward to seeing her perform lead in the show.
