| Charity works are planned in Augusta and we receive a warm welcome in chilly Cincinnati
From an old south city in Alabama we next traveled to another southern city, Augusta, Georgia. It was a rather quiet, old fashioned town. There was one main street a few blocks from our hotel which had a mix of old stores with newer coffee houses and restaurants. It was fun to walk around, wandering into the pawn shops and antique dealers trying to find some kind of looked-over treasure. There was also a large river located about a block from our hotel in the other direction. It was lined with large, extravagant houses in many colors like pink and blue. There was a path down by the water and it was fun to walk along, looking at the houses and deciding which one we'd want if we could have any of them.
It was in Augusta that we kicked off our work for the organization Broadway Cares. They are a group who invite different Broadway and touring shows to help them raise money for families affected by HIV/AIDS and cancer. The money that we raise will go toward helping these people pay for expenses such as medical care, medicine, food, rent that they would be otherwise unable to pay. The entire cast was busy this week autographing posters and programs which we will sell at the shows beginning in Cincinnati. We also had to organize a schedule of dancers to stand in the lobby after the shows in Cincinnati and Minneapolis to collect money from the audience. We are all very excited about this fundraiser as it is for a great cause and we hope to raise as much money as possible to help out.
