Most embarrassing Riverdance moment?
Falling over in the Wake on the lads run across step, I did 2 backward rolly-pollies before I could get up.
Best Riverdance moment?
My best Riverdance moment was the last show of the Lagan just because it was an amazing day. The 14 man Distant Thunder we did was just brilliant!
Favorite part of the show?
My favorite part of teh show us doing Trading Taps and getting a standing ovation.
How did you feel when you heard you had been offered a place in the show?
I was really happy and wanted to get up and leave right at that moment but I hadn´t finished school yet. After a few workshops in Dublin I was able to do a few Flying Squad gigs so that was cool.
Where did you audition and what was it like?
About five years ago me and my friend decided to go on a road trip and take the coach from London to Dublin for a holiday. While there I heard about a Riverdance Flying Squad audition so I decided to drop in - look at what happened after that!
When and why did you decide you wanted to be in Riverdance?
Like most people the Eurovision performance took my breath away and I hoped the show would be going long enough so I could join. I also had a lot of influence from family members who were already in Irish Dance shows.
What did you like most about Irish Dancing?
To be honest I didn´t really enjoy it at all when I younger but as I grew older and started travelling things quickly changed. All my best friends around the world are connected in someway to Irish Dancing!
What do you do in your free time on tour?
Sleep, sleepand more sleep...oh plus a bit of GameCube and golf.
What´s the question you are asked the most when people realize you are a Riverdancer?
´Do you know I´m from Ireland?? Yeah my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was Irish. So where are you from?´ ´I´m from London´ ´Really? Whereabouts in Ireland is London??´
What age did you start Irish Dancing?
I started Irish Dancing at age four as four of my aunties and uncles teach I had no choice.
If you could take only 2 comfort things on tour what would they be?
Well, as my girlfriend is already on tour with me I suppose two more things would be the GameCube with FIFA 2005 and my golf clubs.
Do you have any rituals you have to do before going onstage?
Most people do have rituals but funnily enough I don´t do anything. I´m very laid back so I tend to just relax and when its time to go on just give my legs a quick slap so they are ready to do the job. |
