Riverdance at the United Nations
Members of the cast of Riverdance-On Broadway were invited to perform at the opening of the United Nations’ exhibit commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster on Thursday, April 26 2001 at the U.N.

United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan invited the Irish-based Chernobyl Children’s Project to exhibit photographs, sculpture, paintings and film that tell the stories of people living in the world’s most radioactive environment in an exhibition entitled “Black Wind/White Land-Living with Chernobyl”.

The Riverdance performance featured members of the Troupe, led by Pat Roddy and Eileen Martin, the Moscow Folk Ballet Company and Rosa Manzano Jiménez. The performance took place in the lobby of the U.N. building in New York.
