The
Riverdance Flying Squad was invited to perform at a gala
fundraising evening for 900 guests in aid of several children's
charities. The theme chosen for the gala evening was 'An Evening
on the Emerald Isle'. The Flying Squad performed an 18-minute
programme, featuring Thunderstorm, Firedance, Slow
Air and Tunes, Riverdance and Finale.
The
event was held in the Chantilly Ballroom of the Wyndham Anatole
Hotel in Dallas, where the stage area was limited. The Flying
Squad overcame this by adapting to the size and adjusting blocking
and choreography during rehearsal time.
The
cast and crew flew to Dallas the day before the event, spending
six hours on the day preparing for the evening's performance. For
the casting of this event the Riverdance Flying Squad called
upon performers based in the US and Canada.
